Hey gang!

The next Amazon update, and final page of the current chapter, will be released this weekend. Just putting the final touches on it, check back Sunday and it should be posted. 🙂

We realize that this comic was quite complex and took much longer to wrap than expected (with outside factors playing a role in delays as well). Many members of the community have patiently waited for their Fan Requests to be completed, along with appearances from gals who haven’t been seen in Amazon (like Ranma-chan). We’re going to focus heavily on this content through March and April, with an emphasis on boosting the number of updates per week. Our aim is to get back to 2 per week and stay there, but we might add bonus updates along the way (like one for Easter!). Stabilizing production and ramping up the naughty is the goal going forward, and with our team’s health nearing 100%, it’s no longer wishful thinking on our part.

This would not have been possible without the community’s support! So, on behalf of the team, we’d just like to thank everyone again for sticking with us through thick and thin. Times have been a lot thinner than intended, but thick art- with thicc gals- is on the way! >:D

UPDATE: Color Text Edition Now Available!

Hey gang! Plenty of line art has been created, but getting it colored has proven a beastly challenge. We still have our primary colorist playing catch-up after dealing with COVID, so it’s going to be some days yet before we post the last pages of Amazon’s current chapter. Yet, we can’t have too many days go by without content. So we’ve decided to present our sketch (line art editions) as a preview, but we’ve included the text to provide additional entertainment value. We’re pushing ourselves super hard to finish this page by Sunday, Valentine’s Day, and then we’ll continue all efforts to wrap up Amazon on a high note! The next Amazon page has been delayed until Friday. SHADE, our background artist and wearer of the many hats necessary to completing RHB art, is dealing with a cooked graphics card. Seems during this pandemic getting new computer parts is stupid expensive and takes forever. 🙁

The replacement is expected to arrive on Wednesday (27th), and then we’ll be processing the backlog, which includes the next two Amazon pages. Our goal will be to post these back to back, pending Comic Lord Derekloffin’s approval and tweaks.

Thanks for the community’s patience, we’ll do our best to limit the delays. Our artists continue to work and we expect to catch-up in early Feb, with eye towards releasing a steady stream of Fan Requests before resuming another Comic Lord project.

We’ve completed the visual upgrades to the Amazon comic gallery. Improvements include:

• Lossless JPG files instead of blurry, heavily reduced images.
• During Full-Screen mode, the image will now fill more of the screen area.
• IMPORTANT: Sometimes the navigation arrows that appear on the right and left side of the screen during Full-Screen mode will obscure the balloon text, making the comic harder to read. When this happens, take you cursor and navigate to the top center of the image. A black circle will appear with an “X” on it. Click the “X”. You should now be out of Full-Screen mode and able to read the balloon text, but will remain in a viewing mode without comments. Eventually, we’ll solve this issue properly by adding a “fade” feature to the navigation arrows, but further testing is needed for mobile compatibility before that goes LIVE.
• Files remain under 1 MB to ensure reasonable gallery loading times.
• The Full-Quality PNG file can still be obtained by using the “Download Full Quality Image” Button in the lower right area of the page, just above the comments/star rating area.

Amazon is the first Comic Lord project to receive this visual upgrade, but all current projects will receive the upgrade in the coming weeks. All files going forward will feature the visual upgrade (Fan Requests, Specials, Naughty Bits).

Known outstanding bugs:

• On some browsers (such as Google Chrome 64-bit), pressing the “Last” button in the navigation gallery slider hides the scroll bar, defeating the purpose. We’ve yet to track down exactly what’s causing that, but it remains something we’re trying to eliminate. For now, while scrolling a longer gallery, instead of using the “LAST” button, click on the far right image thumbnail, which will scroll you to the next section. Apologies for this inconvenience. The bug did not originally exist and was introduced after an extension/browser update that we’ve yet to pinpoint.

Pending Features:

• We’ve been focused on improving the visual presentation and efficiency of the art gallery first. Once that’s in a good place, the focus will return to tagging the many Fan Request and Special images which remain tagless and limit the usefulness of the “Gallery Search” feature. However, long-term this will be solved as it’s only a matter of labor, with no bugs remaining to solve.

Transitioning from the old gallery to this one has been bumpier than we hoped, but with the improvements coming online, we’re nearer to a better quality viewing experience for our community. We’ve received many helpful comments during this process, and a great deal of patience, so the team would like to thank everyone for their part and assure everyone that we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible in 2021. We’ll keep going until we’ve maximized the potential of the new gallery and look for more ways to improve the community experience here at Ranmabooks. 🙂

UPDATE: 2020 saw the unveiling of our new gallery. And while there are features we remain happy with, such as the commenting feature, the sacrifice of image quality was unacceptable. Beginning in 2021, we will be posting lossless jpg files. For those who want the lossless png (which is heavier and has transparency effects), you can still grab that via the “download” button on each gallery image page. The image quality our community members see should be vastly improved going forward. And for our Comic Lords, please be advised that we’ll be replacing all the existing image files for those galleries this month, restoring each project to its former visual glory. Thanks for the community’s patience in a trying year, we’ll keep improving and building on the new gallery system in 2021 and beyond.

Hey gang! Happy to report that production on Amazon continues. We believe that we’ve worked out the kinks and are back on course to finish this winter. However, holidays fast approach. We need to make some time for this special time-sensitive content, but we don’t yet know how much we’ll make. It might be 2 pinups- it could be more. This is why the calendar hasn’t been updated yet. Don’t want to promise and fail to deliver. What I can say is we’ll be finalizing the schedule this week, and be posting some content too.

Originally, the plan had been to release the older remastered comic content from Patreon (which had been long promised). Yet during the gallery creation process, we encountered a few website bugs that had been lingering and wanted to put energy into fixing those, along with tending to some other site related maintenance matters. We might still go this route and post For Love of a Girl-Side Remastered, but it could be we’ll try to release a new pinup instead and post that book later in the month.

Which brings us back to the heart of the matter: I don’t yet know which is getting posted first, FLOAGS Remastered or a new pinup, but when I do have confirmation the site will get it this week. Then we’ll start churning out content faster, update the calendar, and- most importantly- we’ll be steady with releases for the rest of the month and going forward. Appreciate everyone’s patience, not much longer to wait. It’s quiet now, but soon it will be a hentai avalanche! >:D
