For anyone who has tried to create a new membership or renew an existing one at Ranmabooks.com, please be aware that we’ve temporarily disabled the sign-up area. This is in response to a dispute we have with our now previous payment processor. We can’t come to an agreement, so we’re changing payment processors next week to CCBill.

Until that process is complete, sign-ups will remain closed. An error message will display for anyone who tries to sign-up. We’re very sorry for this inconvenience and working hard to restore payment processing ASAP.

For anyone who can’t wait and simply must get Ranmabooks access sooner, please use the “contact us” button on the menu and inquire about the Patreon donation method. As our Patreon is still 100% working, we can use that as a workaround to manually add memberships to Ranmabooks.

We’re pleased to announce that chapter 5 of our Virtual Novel, Hard Training, is now available! As always, a big thanks to Pchan9000 for creating the project and doing the heavy lifting on the coding side of things to make it a reality!

In this installment, Nodoka schemes to accelerate Ranma’s womanhood training while our favorite redhead struggles to resist this influence… along with her own growing urges!

Please be aware that there are no choices in this chapter. And there’s a very good reason for it: Ryoga (our point of view character) is not awake for a good chunk of it. Instead, the story will mostly keep Ranma front and center so we- and she- can dive deep into the wild side!

There is no commenting possible while viewing the game, so we’re asking folks to provide their chapter 5 impressions on this image page in the Hard Training art gallery. We’d love your feedback!

While the wait has been longer than we’d like, we’re committed to getting chapter 6 out much sooner, so expect more Hard Training updates in the near future. There will be shorter chapters, but more frequent updates. 😀

Hey gang! New website content feature to discuss today!

In December 2018, Ranmabooks opened a Patreon dedicated to remastering our classic catalog (most of which were small jpeg files) in Ultra High-Definition. We also selectively upgraded backgrounds and fine-tuned character art and/or dialog issues that we missed or didn’t have time to address in the initial release. For those of you who have supported this project, we extend our thanks! We promised Ranmabooks patrons that eventually this art would make its way over to Ranmabooks.com, and now we can confirm the transition process shall begin.

Hundreds of remastered art pages have been completed, but members of Ranmabooks often don’t know about it because there aren’t any news posts about it. We haven’t made these posts because we’ve been reluctant to clutter up the news section that features primarily new content- content we absolutely do not want to bury amid a sea of remastered art. Yet we have all this remastered art that we really want to share, particularly during a period where content posts are less frequent because of production on big projects like the Virtual Novel and upcoming Comic Lord chapters, so what to do?

Our solution is to create a single post for all remastered art we release during a month. This post will be labeled in the format of “Remastered Art: Month Year” and, unlike our other content posts, will get updated multiple times during the month with more content. The exact number of updates with remastered art will fluctuate depending on how active new content posts are at the site, but we’re going to shoot for roughly 2 art sets per week. Today, we’re offering three: the first three remastered art sets posted to our Patreon in December of 2018.

Please be aware, we’re going to post art chronologically from the date it was remastered (December 2018 to present). This means current Patrons still get first access to recently remastered art sets for their financial support toward the project, along with occasional new content exclusive to the Patreon. The remastering project is not yet complete, so rewarding those helping us get to the finish line while transitioning older remastered sets to Ranmabooks is a fair balance.

Now some might wonder, why don’t we just dump all the remastered art at once on the website instead of these infrequent posts? The reason is data entry and quality of life. The data entry element involves renaming the files, tagging the files, writing content descriptions for each file (story blurbs) and then organizing the file structure in our database and galleries. For quality of life, tags are identified and attached to files to make this content easier to find in our gallery search. Lastly, all posts and downloads are tested for clarity, correctness, and functionality. It’s the slow, but steady method which will ensure the quality of the content and its presentation matches the loving care we’ve put into creating the art.

Bottom line, what does this all mean? Every month, there will be a single post that is updated multiple times with more remastered art sets. We’ll be adding the dates of remastered art releases to the Calendar in the near future, so be sure to check in November for a solid schedule of what to expect going forward. We hope the community will be enthusiastic to see our classic art released in the best form possible based on the original sources. And for those maybe lukewarm or indifferent to the idea, try to think of it as a way to enjoy Ranmabooks art like a selection of oldies, but goodies. When one isn’t quite sure what they’re in the mood for while browsing, consider the monthly Remastered Art post!

The RHB team has been hard at work on the 5th chapter of our Virtual Novel, “Hard Training”. We are pleased to report that 100% of the art assets for the chapter are now complete. What remains is integration, play-testing, and polishing the chapter. Look for an October release.

As for the lack of art updates the past two weeks, we are sorry about the quiet period. It must be stressed that art production for the Virtual Novel is unlike the regular art creation process. It takes extra planning with intense focus to create the character models, expressions, poses, and finally the key erotic art scenes. This meant that the art team working on Hard Training could not juggle other projects.

We had tried to get a second art team creating Fan Requests, but availability was a problem throughout the month. Only recently have we been able to get pinup production underway again. At the minimum, we’ll make sure that two Fan Requests are released before end of month. If it’s possible, we’ll try to get a third finished too.

With the assets for the Virtual Novel chapter complete, we can now focus RHB artists 100% on pinup production. Our primary goal is to get the amount of content back up to a good number without sacrificing quality. So expect a plentiful mix of Fan Requests and some Halloween content next month that will make October a definite treat.
