Introduction
Better Angels is an original, full-colour English Ranma hentai manga, produced by Ranma Hentai Books, released in daily page-by-page updates via Ranma Hentai Books Defender System.
Storyline and Contents
The Story:
Who remembers the sitcom Herman's Head? How about Shoulder Angels in various cartoons? Id, Ego & Superego from Psych 101? Well, however you like to think about what goes on in a person's subconscious, and how we make decisions in our lives, you'll surely spot a few familiar elements in Better Angels.
This story isn't really about Ranma & Akane, so much as it is about their worse and better halves living in their subconscious minds. Akane's Inner Angel (Superego) is trying to win Ranma's love by cooking for him; her Inner Devil (Id) is complaining that all they really need to do is grab him by the dick and drag him into their bedroom! Not too far away in the psychic plane, Ranma's Inner Devil (Id) is hotly refusing that they should apologize to Akane, because they didn't do anything wrong! Akane should be the one to apologize for nearly poisoning them; his Inner Angel (Superego) is arguing that whoever is at fault, there will be no peace between Ranma and Akane until he apologizes for hurting her feelings.
And so begins the tale of AngelAkane, DevilAkane, AngelRanma, and DevilRanma, as they all together work (if often at cross-purposes) to try and get their humans together. Some want the love, others just a good lay, but if they succeed they ought to be able to get both at the same time, right?
And there will be other metaphysical representations of the divided psyches of friends and family stopping by. Ryouga's bad side is a stubborn selfish Devil-pig with a redhead fetish? Nabiki's duality is represented by Evil & MoreEvil? Does Kasumi even have a bad side, or is it just a question of degree?
Wild things can happen in the realm of the subconscious, especially when the base drives of such eclectic and interesting individuals are involved. Who will win the struggle for dominance in Akane's head? Her high moral standards, or her base primal needs?
It's a wild ride through the subconscious minds of some of the Ranma series' best characters, and one thing can be predicted upon if nothing else; no figments of anyone's imagination are getting out of this with their clothes still on!

Reception
Along with the change in distribution method from sales of a complete book to releasing a page at a time to subscribers, the old method of reviewing the whole book at once mostly became obsolete as well. Ranma Hentai Books still maintains a comments section in their forum, containing both the daily page-by-page comments and subscribers' final thoughts on the book upon its completion.
(Note that Purple and Better Angels share the same comment topic, as they both had the honor of being the pilot projects of the Defenders System.)
